Take a minute to mix up this delicious blood orange organic cocktail, courtesy of pro mixologist and author Jordan Catapano, the force behind This Girl Walks Into A Bar and the brand-new Cocktails for Cougars and Cowgirls: Simple and Delicious Recipes for Every Woman book. I visited Jordan in her Los Angeles bar/studio to mix a few organic cocktails–here’s the video (and recipe) to prove it!
How to make Jordan Catapano’s Citrus Holiday Organic Cocktail:
First make the organic blackberry simple syrup. In a saucepan, bring to a boil:
1 cup organic blackberries
1 cup organic sugar
1 cup filtered water
Let simmer for a few minutes, then remove from heat and let cool. You can store this in a jar for future use–it’s also great on pancakes!
Now for the organic cocktail. Fill a shaker with ice, then add:
1/2 ounce organic (if possible) lemon juice
1 ounce Farmer’s Botanical Small Batch Organic Gin
1 ounce Thatcher’s Blood Orange Organic Artisan Liqueur
In a highball glass, muddle thyme with:
1 ounce organic blackberry simple syrup
Then strain into your shaker. Shake, then strain your organic cocktail into a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with thyme and blackberries.
